My concentration is photo stories of the working class focusing on emergency medical services such as those provided by our local fire departments. I'm using both color schemes and subject matter to tie my photos together. My passion for emergency services started when I was young and has fueled my creativity for my concentration series. Since I have joined the student firefighter program at Westside Fire and completed the EMT- Basic course at Columbia Gorge Community College, I have learned a new degree of respect and admiration for the everyday heroes in this world. The purpose of this series is to honor those who voluntarily risk their lives for the welfare of their communities health and property.

Spring break photo shoot

I've been editing photos I've already had experimenting with different colors. I've also set up and mini photobooth in my room with very strong lighting for detailed shots. My plan for the upcoming week since it's been so nice is to set up a scene with an old bus outside and get more EMT photos.

Complementary Colors

I'm just playing with color schemes to see what works well together. Here is a complementary color scheme.

I loved the portriat image but I'm not too sure of the other images with it.

In this photo I played with all the things an EMT would initially need. I tried to emphasis both the worker and equiptment.

Healing Hands

In these photos, I'm experimenting with different focal points of healing aspects. I'm also continuing my color schemes with matching colors. These photos highlight the healing elements by contrasting low saturation with color.

Progress

Right now, I'm working on editing a series of EMT pictures and taking more detailed shots for this series. I'm very happy with how my pictures have turned out so far in my consentration and I hope these that I'm working on now are just as strong.

Primary Colors

Here is number 2 in my consentration. I gouped these pictures together both by setting and color scheme.

The Plan

This weekend, I'm planning on doing another photo shoot. I will be taking a series of EMT pictures and some more fire ones as well. I'm experimenting with putting my collages together by color schemes. We'll see how it goes!

Here is technically my first finished consentration piece. I took out the photo of the axe and stair way since it was so bright and felt it distracted from the main picture, maybe I'll work that photo into another collage.

This is one of my favorite photos I've taken and I would like to use it in my concentration. For this shot, I set up a fog machine in a basement and filled the room with smoke. We had to use flash lights at the bottom of the stairs to get enough lighting and make it realistic.  

Here is my second fire fighter photo story, I'm not sure whether it is finished but all the colors seemed to work well together.
